Layers of Atmosphere is a design studio offering collections of objects to live with, wear, and experience. Our focus is on the relationship between material, form, and atmosphere, using repurposed materials and handcrafted techniques to create pieces shaped by the environments around us.

Introduction to the "Katabatic Collection" shows both lighting pieces hanging in a gallery setting. The walls are covered in layers of semi-opaque plastic, the floor is concrete and the walls of the studio are white cinderblocks.

Wind is an invisible force made visible through movement, shifting patterns, and the traces it leaves across the landscape. Katabatic Light draws inspiration from katabatic winds, where cold, dense air flows downhill under the force of gravity.
